This week, Andrew shared a combined message on Celebration for both kids and adults, focusing on Jesus's parable of The Lost Sheep (Luke 15:1–7) to remind us that God loves a party when someone is found. Andrew challenged the grumpy and judgmental attitudes of the "99 righteous" by emphasising the "Reckless Love of God" which drives Jesus, the Good Shepherd, to extreme lengths to seek us when we are lost. He stressed that no one is too far gone because we are saved purely by grace (Ephesians 2:4–5), not works, asserting the truth that "there is no one righteous, not even one" (Romans 3:10). Ultimately, Andrew urged us to join the heavenly celebration and avoid grumpiness, showcasing powerful baptism testimonies as evidence of God's life-changing work actively finding and restoring the lost today.

This week, as we wrapped up our series, Resolving Everyday Conflict, Grant shared his final message, Getting Together to Discover Lasting Solutions, focusing on the crucial final principle: Reconciliation (the "Us" section of the God, Me, You, Us framework). He urged us to move from being mere peacekeepers to active peacemakers by seeking a lasting solution. True peace is found only in reconciliation, which Jesus showed is more important than worship (Matthew 5:23-24). It requires offering forgiveness (a choice to fully release the wrong) and the offender's repentance. Ultimately, this process builds a stronger relationship that reflects Christ’s reconciling work (2 Corinthians 5:18-20).

This week in church, Andrew Ponsen (Ponso) shared his message, Gently Engaging Others, focusing on Restoring the Relationship (the "You" part of God, Me, You, Us) as a part of our Resolving Everyday Conflict Series. He defined crucial conversations (opposing views, high stakes, strong emotions) where our "amygdala hijack" leads to destructive silence or violence. To succeed, we must slow down, adopt humility (Colossians 3:12), and Master Our Story by separating facts from the stories we tell ourselves. The goal is a "Pool of Shared Meaning," maintained by following the STATE acronym to speak the truth in love and keep the conversation safe, leading to reconciliation.

This week in church, Nathan continued our series, Resolving Everyday Conflict, with his message, Get Real, focusing on the second gospel principle for conflict resolution: Own My Part (The "Me" section of the God, Me, You, Us framework). Nathan taught that "The fight is not the failure; our response to it can be," but we often fail because we look at the "speck" in others' eyes while ignoring the "plank" in our own (Matthew 7:1-5). Drawing on Genesis 4:1-16 (Cain and Abel), he stressed that unresolved desires become idols that fuel our destructive conflict responses (Fleeing or Attacking). The message stressed that because we have received reconciliation in Christ, we have the power to "Get Real" by taking responsibility, confessing specifically, acknowledging hurt, and seeking forgiveness with humility, fulfilling the call to live a life "worthy of the calling" (Ephesians 4:1-3).

This week in church, our special guest and previous Mayfield Baptist Pastor, Kevin Warner (representing Peacewise), continued our new series, Resolving Everyday Conflict, with his message, Going Higher, emphasising that though conflict is an inevitable, hot issue, the core of the Gospel is reconciliation. Kevin introduced the first gospel principle for constructive conflict resolution: Glorify God, using the simple framework, God, Me, You, Us. He challenged listeners to make their first and constant question, "How can I please and honour God in this situation?" This requires moving away from the default responses of avoidance (peacekeeping) or attack (peacebreaking), which are fuelled by the old sinful nature. Instead, by applying the truth of Ephesians 4:1-3, we are called to be peacemakers who fight for unity with humility and patience, trusting that conflict is redeemable when handled with dependent obedience to Christ.

This week in church, Andrew kicked off our new series, Resolving Everyday Conflict, with his message, Facing the Flames of Conflict, tackling the reality of tension in our lives. Andrew and Grace used a powerful analogy: "Conflict is like a fire." The Spark is a disagreement, the Fuel is the old sinful nature (e.g., pride or rage), and the Flames are the destructive actions. Drawing on Ephesians 4:17-32, the core biblical principle is to "Remove the fuel" by choosing our new identity in Christ and "dying" to the old self. The message stresses that while conflict is unavoidable, it is redeemable, calling Christians to be peacemakers who fight for unity by the power of the Spirit, ensuring conflict brings maturity and growth.

In this special extra message in the Playlist of Faith series, guest preacher Yakim from OM (Operation Mobilisation) shares on God's global mission, centering on Psalm 96. He argues that worship is the ultimate goal, and mission is the fuel, existing where worship is absent. Yakim highlights the call to "Declare his glory among the nations" by sharing the gospel in culturally relevant ways, such as in people's mother tongue. This public worship—"Say Among the Nations, 'The Lord Reigns'"—acts as direct gospel sharing. He encourages involvement in global mission through prayer and support, anticipating the coming time of cosmic joy and praise.

In this, our last sermon on 'The Playlist of Faith' series, Andrew tackles the challenging Psalms of Lament, using Psalm 42 and 43 to address what to do when life is a battle. When your soul is downcast, the way forward is not denial, but honest lament and a deliberate remembrance of God's faithfulness. The message encourages listeners to model the psalmist: openly expressing their desperate need for God while repeatedly reminding themselves, "Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Saviour and my God." True lament is presented as faith fighting for light in the dark.

This week, Nathan's message, "Praise on Repeat," focuses on the Psalms of Praise, a core theme in the Tehillim (Hebrew for "Book of Praises"). He divides them into two types: Declarative Psalms (or thanksgiving, Toda), which retell a personal or communal crisis and God’s specific deliverance (e.g., Psalm 116), leading to a renewed vow of praise. Secondly, Descriptive Psalms (or hymns), which call others to join in praising God for who He is—His surpassing greatness and acts of power (e.g., Psalm 150). Nathan explains that Hallelujah means "Come praise God," urging Christians to make their lives a continual sacrifice of praise (Hebrews 13:15) in response to His ultimate act of salvation through Jesus, regardless of life's circumstances.
