As we journey through the "fruit of the spirit", we come today to the fruit of "gentleness", or "meekness".

When we understand our reality (what we have been saved from) and our identity (who we have become in Christ) from God, a spirit empowered response of total surrender becomes manifested in our lives.

We welcome Kris Knutson as our guest speaker. Kris is the Director of Programs at The Mustard Seed Street Church. He has been part of our Deepen Conference this weekend, leading a track on the topic of restorative justice.

Faithfulness to God is best sustained in the context of faithful relationships with one another.

Today we come to the fruit of "goodness." Because there are many voices in our world telling us what the "good life" looks like, it is important that we take the time to explore what God says about life that is truly good.

Today we will look at the virtue of patience found in the fruit of the spirit.

Today, we look at the fruit of "peace." The letter Paul wrote to the church in Philippi contains several allusions to a lack of relational peace. Paul's appeal to these people addresses the root of their conflict and points to Jesus' example as the true source of peace (2:1-9). We can summarize Paul's direction this way.

Today, we look at the fruit of "joy". In the Psalms, we read of David's loss of joy that occurred as a result of sin that occurred in a very relational context (Psalm 32, 51). These Psalms take us back to the story of David and Bathsheba and how David got into the mess he did by trying to make his own joy.

Welcome to McKernan Baptist Church! In this new year, we are focussing on what it means to be in "Right Relationship With One Another." Today we begin a journey through the fruit of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5:22-23. We'll see how love for one another truly does flow from an increasing awareness of God's love for us.

As we begin 2017, we will turn our focus to what it means to be in right relationship with one another.
