In this episode we talk about the pressure to be "perfect" Christian couples. In any relationship there is the pressure to attain perfection, even more so in the Christian community where people are  constantly assessing the "godliness" in one another. But every relationship has conflicts as our human conditions begin to show and it can be exhausting  to want our partners/relationships to parallel the standards of perfection in the christian community. In this episode we talk through some of our struggles, the pressure to be "perfect" and how we are learning to see that differences and imperfections should not make us feel like we are failing.

We are officially back after a long and much needed break. It is so crazy how the year went by so fast and though it did not go how most of us planned and expected; we have learned a lot, survived and thrived. In this episode we share some testimonies and dive deep into our most challenging and memorable moments of 2020. We've had some downs and some ups. And through it all, one thing remains true - God is still God. Thank you for doing this journey with us.

Relationships provide the opportunity for people with completely different experiences  and unique characteristics to come together as one and to unite in purpose. They are meant to be both enjoyable and purposeful but more often than not, people go into relationships with the expectation that partners alleviate their insecurities and fill voids no one but God can fill. It is possible to be in a close relationship and still maintain your individuality, identity and wholeness when you understand that God is enough. In this episode Manny and Marj discuss the importance of maintaining your individuality in a relationship and in life.

A godly sense of purpose helps you put everything in perspective and refocus on experiences that are meaningful both to you and your relationship. With the existence of social media comes the opportunity to always see what others are up to but it is important to learn to celebrate people without losing our focus, authenticity and integrity. We believe that a godly sense of purpose helps you differentiate between things that are important and unimportant. And it allows you to live within a meaningful mission. In this episode we discuss grasping the concept of purpose in your relationship and why it is important to do so. 

Typically it is easy to criticize others and call out their wrongs while we overlook our flaws. But at what point do we see the need to be what we are asking of people. it is ok to ask for what we need but are we positioned to give as much value as we are willing to extract? On this episode Manny and Marj have a conversation about why there is a need for introspection and the need to address our personal messes to become better for what we are demanding because a healthy relationship must be mutually enjoyable, valuable and sacrificial.

Last week we shared the “cute” story of how we met and the feedback was amazing. However, we believe it is necessary to also touch on the bumps along the road. As Christians we have to be positioned to graciously embrace the fact that a word from God, purpose, calling and a life in Christ is not the absence of challenges. We both open up about two major struggles and We highlight the reason why it is  important to hear from God before we take any step in our lives. There are so many lessons in this conversation and once again we pray that the Lord will use this conversation to give someone peace.

Once we get to a certain point in our lives, inevitably the question "is he/she the one for me" comes up. Before Manny and Marj address the topic "Is He/She the one for me"?, they figured sharing their love story will help provide some context on their perspectives. The feeling of love is exciting and is something we all want to get right. Manny and Marj share their unconventional love story in detail. And we hope that both singles and married will glean some lessons from this conversation.
