God's story is one of love, a love that moved God to give generously to His creation. And as we read about the story of God we see many times where He calls the people of God to give of their finances and resources to the work of God. We have the opportunity to be used by God to do the work of God when we live the generous life. This week we will look at God's heart regarding generosity with our finances.

For God so loved the world that He gave... He gave us His Son, Jesus, so that we could have life; He gave us creation in all it's majesty; He gave us His word. God is a God who has given much and continues to give. As we begin to realize and acknowledge this truth in our lives we are naturally moved towards living the generous life. Since we have received much from God, we are equipped to be able to give much to the world.

Chances are, you are like everyone else... and you have issues. We all have them and especially when it comes to our issues with authority, they seem to bleed over into the many different arenas of life. In our community, there are various governing bodies and authorities that we find ourselves under. Whether on a local, state, or federal level, we all have some authority issues when it comes to the government. How are followers of Jesus to live while under the authority of governments that are not necessarily pursuing the things of God?

While we may try to keep from bringing work home, we still end up bringing our authority issues to work. How do we deal with authority in the workplace?

The church is definitely a place where we can see that we all have authority issues. Not only are there structures of leadership in the church that we may have issue with, but we can even have issue with each other as we do life together. How do we deal with our authority issues in the church?

Husbands and wives & parents and children, we all have struggles and challenges to overcome in the home. It’s intriguing to see that often times our issues in the home begin with our issues with God and His authority.

God is a sovereign. There is none who advise him and he seeks no consultation. God simply speaks and it is done. All that is, is allowed by God. While this might be a simple statement and a simple truth, it is one that we continue to rebel against. We must begin our journey here as we deal with the issues we have with authority. Thankfully, despite our rebellion, God desires to redeem our story into one that is for His glory and our good.

For those who follow Jesus we are called to be in relationship with each other... but that is not the whole story. We are also called to be in relationship with our communities and the world around us. We are to be a community within the community that has been sent back out to the community that we find ourselves in.

Change. Whether you like to reset your furniture on a weekly basis or switch-up your brand of toothpaste, some of us love change. While for others, consistency and stability are your best friends and 'change' never gets invited to your party’s; some of us dislike change. Regardless of where you stand emotionally with change, it is a part of our lives. Jesus even calls us to live in a way that is different from how we used to live before knowing him and different from the world around us. We are called to be different with a purpose, the purpose of proclaiming the good news of Jesus.
