Have you ever felt the fear of failure? Whether this fear materialized at work, at home, or simply in you, the fear of failure can have significant power in our lives. But there is something that can have an even greater destructive power in our lives. Fortunately, Jesus can help us to overcome this destructive power and also equip us to overcome our fears of failure.

Trials, tribulation, and challenges will come to us all at some point in our lives. Some experience much and others very little, but none of us know when it will happen. All to often, a fear of the unknown will lead to a life hamstrung by anxiety and worry. But in seeking Jesus first, giving him precedence in our thinking before anxiety and worry, we can overcome.

Throughout the bible, we are told to "fear not." It is one of the most common commands given to us in God's word and yet a strong case can also be made for us to have a fear of the Lord. We begin our Overcome series dealing with the tension of what it means to fear the Lord while living life as one who trust in Jesus who has overcome the world.
