Have you ever been told that to truly be saved you have to have Jesus plus [fill in the blank]? Paul directly address this topic it and makes it clear that Jesus + Nothing = Everything.

When we take our eyes off of Jesus, we tend to become religious. Our salvation becomes about tradition, heritage, church attendance, and following the rules. Paul brings us back to a simple thought, “Here is who I was, Here is who Jesus is, and This is who I am now because of Jesus” and this is something we should boast about.

As we begin our study of Galatians we discover that the issues the Galatians are much like the issues many churches today are facing. Paul is so passionate about calling us back to the doctrine of salvation by God’s grace alone through Jesus Christ’s atoning work on the cross that he writes the entire letter by hand.
