In Jesus, we are a new creation and as such are to take off our old selves and put on our new self in Jesus. God sent His son for us while we were still sinners and now that we have been purchased by the blood of Jesus, our lives are transformed as we are called to do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus. Growing things change.

Evangelism is the act of being a witness to the Gospel, the power of God for salvation, can be seen as this difficult and challenging thing to do when in reality it is simply someone who has been found by Jesus finding others that they can tell about Jesus. Our motivation to find others comes out of the belief that Jesus is the way to a relationship with God and eternal life. How people respond to the Gospel is out of our control but giving them the opportunity to respond is something that we can do and are called to do because found people find people.

Even Jesus' earliest followers wrestled with the idea of unfollowing Jesus. But one of his disciples asked a question that put everything in perspective: "To whom shall I go?"

As we follow Jesus, eventually what we want will clash with what Jesus commands, and we have to decide whether we'll abandon him or follow.

This week we discover that as Christ Followers Jesus expects us to lead like Him, and reminds us that good leaders are also good followers.

As we seek to know and follow Jesus, we are called to abide in Jesus and are promised that He will abide in us. Like a branch on a vine, it must remain in the vine in order to bear fruit. The vine bring's life to the branch enabling it to bear fruit. Jesus is the vine and we are the branches.

There are all kinds of benefits to following Jesus, but we have to talk about the fine print. While Salvation is free, following Jesus will eventually cost us all something.

As we follow Jesus, he changes us. One of the changes that happens inside us, is the way we treat others. In fact, this is so important that Jesus says it would be one of the main ways people know we belong to him.

This week we discover that because of Jesus, it possible to have a faith that overcomes fear.
