Mike Malone is one of two on-set dressers the world of Twin Peaks has ever had. Since Episode 1 of the original series, Mike has been on set for just about every scene from Season 1, to Fire Walk With Me, to the Return. Mike has worked in the film and television industry for decades and over the course of our nearly two hour conversation we get INTO it.

Today on MEANWHILE, I’m thrilled to share my talk with Jay Aaseng about his time working as David Lynch’s assistant, producing INLAND EMPIRE, playing the Drunk in Twin Peaks: The Return, as well as covering his work as a writer, director, and actor.

This episode spends a lot of time diving into Inland Empire and Jay’s experience working directly with David Lynch.

Plus, we get into the identity of the actors in the Rabbit suits. And while we get confirmation that during one re-shoot scene Naomi Watts and Scott Coffey are very much inside those suits, Jay drops a clue that the year was likely 2002, before the Laura Dern monologue, and so before Inland Empire!!
