The show is sure to inspire, spark curiosity, and maybe even having you dust off that clarinet, pick up a paintbrush, start that novel, or anything else you can dream. You can find host, Tammy Takaishi, a Board Certified-Music Therapist, continuing the conversation about fine and creative arts, along with recipes from guests via her blog."

  • S3 E17 Nicola Thomis

In which Elizabeth has a lovely conversation with UK writer Nicola Thomis. Thomis was recently nominated for a Jasmine Award for her Nosings column in the most recent issue of Meat For Tea (V 15 I 4 - "Raw".) They talk about writing, perfume and perfume making, scent memory and a whole lot more. Seriously, tuck into this one!

  • S3 E16 Patreon Exclusive: a preview!

Going back to 2012, when Meat For Tea had exclusive CDs included in each issue, this conversation was recorded via Google Voice with Scratch Acid and The Jesus Lizard's David Yow. Yow is also an actor and visual artist, and contributed the front cover for the Camomile issue at that point. There were only 50 CDs made at that time, so this is a rarity from the archives. Please note that internet voice recording isn't as good as it kind of is today.

John Sheirer (pronounced “shy-er”) lives in Northampton, Massachusetts, with his wonderful wife, Betsy, and happy dog, Libby. • S3 E10 Miranda Brown and Brian Marchese
We sure had a great time talking with Miranda Brown and Brian Marchese for this episode!
Miranda is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has not only her own recordings and performances in her dossier, but has played with many luminaries like AC Newman, The New Pornographers, Ryan Adams, Crooked Fences, The Lonesome Brothers, Eric Bachman, David Dondero, The Space Elevators, and Oh No Oh My.
Brian also is a multi-instrumentalist, known widely for his drumming and, aside from his own solo project Sitting Next To Brian, is or has been a part of many great bands like The Fawns, School For The Dead, Gentle Hen, Lo-Fine, Goldwater, The Figments, The Mal Thursday Quintet, Our Wicked Hearts, and many more, and has played on records by such cool folks like Mark Mulcahy and Haunt. There's so much covered in here - it's a long one (but worth it!) - including sharing some memories and cool stories of their musical careers, and a lot more outside of just music.
    Songs featured during the conversation:
    Glacier - "Snow"
Our Wicked Hearts - "I Should Go"
    Pineapples - "Early Waters"
    The Fawns - "Sun"
Miranda Brown and band - "The Get Around"

We get together with these two superb writers to talk, well, writing! And hear some of their works - including a piece from each that the other admires. Gerald Yelle and Richard Horton are two of Meat For Tea's most loyal contributors - and participants in the live release parties (the Cirques) and are featured in several of our episodes going back to Cirques past, so do seek those out as well!
