This week, another Emrys request as we tackle the backbone of America's armored division in World War II, the M4 Sherman medium tank! Or that's what I thought until I checked the message history, and discovered it was actually a message from Aedan, Emrys's son who guested on our episode back in the day on the Gwazine-class & Friends! So let's talk about the first tank we've ever covered on the show, and the dozen dozen ways they swapped its parts around to try to keep up with the war!

Sometimes it's the variations that salvage the core design. The Geara Zulu is, frankly, a pretty uninspired attempt to work more WWI and WWII German military design into the already pretty German Geara Doga. Frankly, I side-eye anyone who looks at Zeon designs and decides there's not enough stroßtruppen in them. We could actually use LESS Nazi and Prussian imagery, thanks. But here we are. And at least some of the Guards customs are cool.

Pour one out for Lila Milla Rira. Gen Urobuchi sure will. First Gundam was big on its villain of the week, but a real feature of Zeta was the grunt of the week: a design that isn't even particularly threatening, but shows up like "wow reasonable cool robot" then fades into the background. Of that style, the Galbaldy is one. And yet, there's more going on than you might think.

I suspect this listener request was just for a very simple name goof, but we had a good time regardless. I've never paid much attention to Pontiacs, even less since the brand died. But despite a lifetime of scorn for American muscle cars, this podcast, and the listener requests that forced me to stare at these designs, have taught me some respect. The Alexander is an interesting friend. It's a VERY different design from what we usually cover on this show, and even quite different from its peers in Code Geass. If I had to compare it to something, it reminds me of the EMMIs from Metroid Dread? Humanoid-presented robobug, crawlin around all fast. I like both. Though, don't tell Dylan... I like the EMMIs more than the Alexander.

Even on a grunt variety roundup, we can't escape how much missed potential G-Witch has. We're sitting here praying for an art book as we talk about all manner of Witch from Mercury mobile suits, very few of whom are in more than one scene, let alone more than one episode. There are a lot of winners here. There are a lot of weirdos here! But I think they all deserved more love and attention. G-Witch in a nutshell.
