Part 3 in our Isaiah Sermon Series! The prophecy of a new king and kingdom that will rise up as a branch from the stump of David’s family - this king will be a holy seed.

In the first four chapters, Judah’s sins are confronted. We are told that God can relent no longer and that judgment is coming. Isaiah chapter 5 ends this section with a song of heartache that describes Judah’s unfaithfulness to God. After this introductory section, that is arranged almost like a lawsuit that God levels on his people, is an account of Isaiah’s encounter with God and his call to prophesy to Judah.

We begin our series this Fall on "The Gospel According to Isaiah". The book of Isaiah points to every part of the gospel story, and we see how Jesus is revealed as the Holy One of Israel and saviour of our world throughout this poetic (& prophetic) book.
