Gustavo R. Negrete is a certified medical interpreter through the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI) and currently serves the Secretary of the NBCMI. He is also a Certified HIPAA Privacy Expert (CHPE). Gustavo was previously an Interpreter and Translator at Riverside University Health System (RUHS) and currently, he is the President and CEO of a micro interpreting and translation company providing on-site, OPI, VRI and translation services for clients and is the Coordinator and Lead Instructor for TransInterpreting’s Healthcare Interpreting Program. Today he's here to share his story of how he started his career journey as a medical interpreter.
