Tosin Seriki, DDS is a General Dentist in the Dallas, TX area. She is Nigerian born and Dallas, TX raised! Dr. Seriki earned a BA in Biology from University of Missouri-Columbia, a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Management & Policy at Drexel University, and a certificate in Neuroscience at the University of Texas-Dallas. In 2018 she earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery at Texas A&M (Baylor) College of Dentistry. This week I'm excited to share my conversation with one of the best clinicians I've had the joy of spending time with. Dr. Mikal Hicks-Black is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist located in metropolitan Philadelphia. As a lead clinician, Dr. Hicks-Black covers various inpatient units within the hospital where she manages patients from diverse backgrounds with intricate trauma narratives and complex psychopathology. She genuinely feels she turned her purpose into passion, and feels blessed to work in communion with the families and children that walk her units.

This week's episode features a brilliant sister who courageously shared her residency experience in a widely publicized opEd on Medium. 

Dr. Jasmin Marie Harpe was born on the East Coast, graduated from high school in California, and came back East for college. She has a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University, earned a master’s in public health at Yale, and attended Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. Dr. Harpe stayed at Weill Cornell Medicine to complete her residency at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. She combined her passion for neurology, public health advocacy, and research during residency by exploring the relationship between fertility treatment and headaches and has continued investigating this topic during her fellowship. She is currently a Clinical Fellow in Headache Medicine for the 2021-2022 academic year, and is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Season three is here, and we're kicking it off with a brother who is the future of orthopaedic surgery!   

Dr. Nwannunu is a board-eligible orthopedic surgeon with expertise in sports medicine and joint reconstruction. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology at Morehouse College, his master’s degree in Physiology at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and completed his medical education at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Nwannunu completed residency in orthopedic surgery at the John Peter Smith Health Network in Fort Worth, Texas, and fellowship training in adult reconstruction at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He is a member of multiple medical societies and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. Outside of his work at a surgeon, Brian enjoys traveling, physical fitness, outdoor activities, attending art and music festivals, world news, and reading.

This week's episode features the brilliant young activist LaShyra "Lash" Nolen.  Lash Nolen is a student, writer, activist, and the first Black woman to be elected student council president at Harvard Medical School. In 2020 she was selected as a “Young Futurist” by The Root Magazine and named the youngest “40 Under 40” Leader in Minority Health recipient by the National Minority Quality Forum.

This week's episode features Dr. Alden Landry, MD, MPH. Dr. Landry is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Assistant Dean for the Office for Diversity Inclusion and Community Partnership, Associate Director and Advisor for William B. Castle Society, and Director of Health Equity Education at Harvard Medical School. He is also the founder and co-director of the non-profit organization Motivating Pathways. Dr. Landry received his Bachelor of Science degree from Prairie View A&M University, his medical degree from the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Medicine and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. In 2010, he earned a Master’s in Public Health degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and completed the Commonwealth Fund Fellowship in Minority Health Policy at Harvard University.

This week's episode features Student Doctor Osose Oboh. Osose Oboh was born and raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles, California. She is a 2013 graduate of UCLA and earned her Master of Public Health with an emphasis on Global Health Leadership from the University of Southern California. she finished her program, she continued on to complete a post-baccalaureate program at Charles R. Drew University She is Osose is a current third year at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine with the goal of matching in Internal Medicine and completing a fellowship in Gastroenterology & Hepatology. She is the National President Elect and will be the National President of the SNMA for the 2020-2021 administration. Additionally, she is the new Student Trustee to the Board of Trustees of the National Medical Association. In addition to her medical pursuits, Osose is a professional freelance photographer and has traveled to 41 countries.
