Direct Your Thoughts Towards What Is Good | Philippians 4:8
“Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honourable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things.” — Philippians 4:8 (WEB)
Not every thought that enters your mind deserves a permanent place in your heart.
In this episode of Meditations, we reflect on Paul’s invitation to direct our thoughts towards what is true, honourable, pure, lovely, and worthy of praise. This is not about ignoring life’s difficulties or pretending that pain does not exist. It is about viewing every circumstance through the greater truth of God’s character and promises.
When fear, shame, or discouragement speaks, we can challenge those thoughts with the truth of God’s Word. As we turn our attention towards Jesus, God renews our minds and fills our hearts with His peace.
Scripture: Philippians 4:8
Key thought: You may not control every thought that enters your mind, but you can choose what you continue to dwell upon.
Direct your thoughts towards what is good, return your attention to Jesus, and remember: you are loved, you are valued, and you are never alone.
