This week, we watched "Married By Christmas" (2016), a modern movie that dares to ask: What would happen if you pitted two sisters against each other to inherit a family business by snagging herself a man…by Christmas? Starring Jes Macallan and Coby Ryan McLaughlin, a food distribution executive schemes to keep her job—and her heart—while an old fashioned family will and a no-nonsense lawyer stand in the way.

Episode 3 of Meet-Cute & Mistletoe takes a paparazzi shot at the 2019 Hybrid film, "A Christmas Princess", starring Shein Mompremier and Travis Burns, about a Brooklyn chef tasked with making the all-important meal for an annual royal banquet. Will the way to win this prince’s heart be through his stomach? A new modern fairytale about a fierce career-minded black woman who steals the heart of a philanthropic prince with a heart of gold. Hmmm, we wonder where they got that idea?

Another "ABC Family 25 Days of Christmas" original for those who lived for these old “classics” back in the day, like us, "Snowglobe" (2006) is a trot down childhood holiday lane. If you didn’t grow up watching Christina Milian travel between her New York reality and the holiday reality inside a literal snow globe, then now’s your chance to fire up your Disney+ (or beg/borrow/steal a friend’s login) to experience the off-putting surrealism for yourself. We cannot promise that no snow globes were harmed during the making of this movie…or the podcast discussion it inspired.

Years ago, “Christmas Crush” became a year-round must-see for both of us. We’re finally sitting down to unpack ALL the childhood baggage that this 2012 TV movie delivers. This one has it all: Fashion shows, song and dance numbers, a four-person glee club made up entirely of cheerleaders, excessively older actors played off as high schoolers—and way too much more. Starring Rachel Boston, Jonathan Bennett, Marilu Henner, and Harry Hamlin.

Join us in discussing all the reasons we love the 2018 Netflix original film The Holiday Calendar—a cute, if not kooky story about an antique advent calendar that foretells the future, and one that's quite possibly haunted by the heroine’s dead grandmother?!? It’s unexplained Christmas magic for sure, but we stan this movie, anyway.

We reviewed the 2016 film A Cinderella Christmas, one of many films in the rags to riches holiday rom-com sub-genre. Will he or won’t he find the girl who ditched him at the Christmasquerade Ball after midnight? We already know how this ends, but it doesn’t mean we can’t have fun discussing this deliciously hilarious movie.

This movie is WILD! Back to Christmas (2014, originally titled, Correcting Christmas) is a true MarVista holiday rom-com gem. Hosts Kelly and Lindsay try to make sense of the film’s time-jumping examination of missed opportunities and past relationship regret. This ride is worth the watch just for Jennifer Elise Cox’s over-the-top comedic turn as Ginny, the Mysterious Christmas Witch. (Yes, you read that right.)

One of many, MANY movies in the princess sub-genre of ridiculous holiday rom-coms, A Princess for Christmas (2011) features performances by a young Sam Heughan and the late Sir Roger Moore. Even Outlander and James Bond himself can’t keep this romantic rollercoaster from running off the tracks, so Kelly and Lindsay are stepping in to help.
