  • Special Update - Midweek Thoughts

    Well, hello there!

Thank you for all of the support and for listening! It's so exciting to see this little idea grow. We wanted to let you know about a few updates.....

    1. We are moving from bi-weekly to weekly. We've recorded too many wonderful conversations to keep the podcast on a bi-weekly schedule.

    2. We are looking to produce a special "listener stories" episode. We want to highlight BIPOC communities and individuals, and compile those stories into a full length episode to be released on July 4th. This Independence Day, it's YOUR stories we should be sharing.

Send 1-2 minute voice memos to [email protected]

    3. We love you. Talk soon.

  • Episode 1 - Alec Michael
I met Alec while we were both in a production of “Into the Woods”. He was playing Cinderella’s Prince, The Wolf, and Florinda - one of Cinderella’s stepsisters. I was so taken with his talent and skillful execution of that incredibly difficult track, and not at all surprised to later learn that his creative skill crosses boundaries of genre and form.
Alec is an Elementary Music Educator, Performer in both Opera and Musical theatre, and an outspoken creative.
In our conversation, Alec talks through Education post Corona, how schools are making education accessible to all students, being creative in the midst of shutdown, and how white folks can take small meaningful steps to do better for our black, brown, and POC colleagues, friends, and neighbors.
This is a dynamic chat and a fascinating listen. Alec is pretty cool.
A note to our listeners: this episode’s audio was recorded under “less than ideal circumstances” and isn’t the standard for how our show will sound for the rest of the season. Please bear with us as we continue to find our stride.
    Without further ado, here’s Alec.
    Thank you for listening.
