Biological males and females have instincts. Each of those sets of instincts are synonymous with “passion.”
Passion may pertain to romance and attraction, however passion may also pertain to life and death issues.
The SNL skit, “Man Park” illustrates the differences in sets of instincts between males and females in the scene, where they don’t understand each other very much, but that’s the “uncomfortable truth” revealed in the nature of humor. In this particular subject matter, we find the source of the popular cultural meme “toxic masculinity.”
It is the misunderstanding that gives rise to “not-sameness,” which gives rise to conflict, which gives rise to hatred (due to mutual understanding not being possible), which may give rise to at least emotional violence: bullying someone for their immutable traits (masculinity in this case), paired with a pejorative (“toxic”) suggestive of poor character, which is “mutable” or contains free-willed options for behavior.
Boys to some degree, speak this language of their fathers, as girls speak this language of their mothers. It doesn’t really get conveyed in words, but in attention to interests, and bonding over activity (which can include banter, humor, or simply conversational topics.) It’s not in the specific words, but the headlines that this “language” is spoken.
