Dr. Cindy Sena - Martinez joins the Round Table to talk about how she uses music as a tool in her practice, and how you can do the same in your own spiritual practice.

Her work primarily focuses on healing the soul as the first step to wellness. She includes music as a safe and natural method of healing, pain relief, focus, relaxation, encouragement, learning, etc.

Dr. Sena-Martinez is also a singer/songwriter, and she writes music in the form of story-songs to share information with those she works with or presents to.

Dr. Marianela Medrano was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and has lived in Connecticut since 1990. A poet and a writer of nonfiction and fiction, she holds a PhD in psychology. Her literary work has appeared in numerous anthologies and magazines in Latin America, Europe and the United States. Her poetry has been translated into Italian and French. She is President of The National Association for Poetry Therapy, NAPT. She directs Palabra Counseling & Training Center, LLC, with offices in Stanford, New Haven and Middlebury in CT.

Her individual publications include: Oficio de Vivir (Buho,1986), Los Alegres Ojos de la Tristeza (Buho,1987), Regando Esencias/ The Scent of Waiting (Alcance,1998), Curada de Espantos (Torremozas, 2002), Diosas de la Yuca, (Torremozas, 2011), Prietica (Alfaguara, 2013).  Rooting (Owlfeather Collective, 2017).

The Reverend Crystal S. Paul-Watson became pastor at United Methodist Church of Hartford on August 1, 2020. She previously served as pastor both at New Milford-Edenville UMC (2014-2020) and Grace UMC (2018-2020) in Orange County, NY. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership, and a Master of Divinity degree.

Pastor Crystal was raised in a large, musical Christian family, fifth oldest of eleven siblings. She preached her first sermon at the age of 14 at a major conference in Chicago. Soon after receiving her Bachelor's degree, while teaching English at an inner city Junior High, she also served as a Youth Pastor and then Associate Pastor at an area church. She has been the lead administrator of family Christian programs and church-held community events, and participated in foreign mission programs...

She loves nature, family time, the arts (music, visual arts, and liturgical dance.) Pastor Crystal is married to The Reverend Derrick Watson and is mother to Zyanna Rain.

Round Table Conversation with Yvonne Patricia Mcgregor. While talking about her 98-year old mother, Yvonne stated:

"Her strength was in her gentleness, ... and her grace was in being non-judgmental." Absolutely beautiful!

Yvonne talked about being the example so that her children could relate to her guidance. She taught them about having boundaries and keeping them focused on what they wanted to achieve.
