Mental Platypus

This week, we had the opportunity to talk with delightful, lovely Mickey and Jesse Pangburn (Violet Choir, MRCH) about their new EP, Violet Choir (Fervor Records), making music during quarantine, and much more. They were also nice enough to let us include the track "Friend Song" in this episode. Check them out at http://violetchoir.com and hear the new EP on all streaming services.

VH-1 versus MTV? An impromptu "What's In My Bag?"? Boldly comparing Graham Parker's Squeezing Out Sparks to Billy Joel's The Stranger? Must be a new episode of Mental Platypus.

(If you're not all caught up, there is a potentially spoiler-y discussion of WandaVision at the 30 minute mark. You've been warned.)

Jason gets a Switch, Jared wonders if he should read the new Ethan Hawke book, and a discussion of the film Molly's Game sends the pair on a discussion of the problematic nature of men writing the voices of lead female characters. Sorry about any lingering sound quirks - Jason had a recording issue, and Susu started playing with a toy that has a rattle in it. What are you gonna do?
