Remember that thing, that big goal you said you would start next week? Well, it’s Monday and you’re already pretending to have no ambition or goals to pursue.
What happened?
No seriously, what happened to you? What happened to the kid that always dreamt of achieving greatness? What happened to the energetic rebellious teenager that felt sickened by being told what to do? What happened to that fresh adult ready to take the world by storm?
What happened to those versions of you? Where did you go wrong?
Fortunately, those versions of you are still with you, but you’ve pushed them back and suppressed them for years. Your mistake was always waiting for tomorrow.
Constantly looking for a better time, a better environment, a better you.
After years of dreaming and believing in yourself, those versions of you slowly lost hope as you consistently proved them wrong.
The confident voice that once echoed in your mind has faded into silent whispers that you only hear while laying in bed, imagining tomorrow will be the day your dreams come true.
There’s still hope for you to become everything that you’ve dreamt of and more. You need to feed those versions of you that see life through rose tinted glasses and give them proof that they were correct in being hopeful about you.
Get up and start working on the project that keeps crossing your mind. Sit down and read the book you thought sounded interesting. Drive to the closest gym and work out like you said you needed to. Throw away the unhealthy food you have and begin the diet you know will make you healthier. Go talk to the person that’s making your heart race.
To become the person you want to be, to do the things you want to do, you have to actually go be that person and do the things you dream of.
You’re the author of your own destiny. Your life is your story.
Take the leap.
