Micah Fries, co-author of Leveling the Church, joined us today for a conversation about the gap between professional church staff and you and me. He opened up about how as a young pastor he wanted everything to be done right so he slowly started taking over more and more responsibility until it looked like a 1 man show. God used this opportunity to show Micah His plan for the church and how every one of us were created to be on mission in our everyday lives.

David Doerner, teaching & groups pastor @ Frontline Church, joined us to continue the conversation on mentoring. In fact, he brought Sean Murphy, who David mentors, with him into the studio. We talked about how the mentoring relationship got started. David shared how a feedback driven culture, if it doesn’t come from a loving relationship, can be damaging.  We also discussed how culture disciples us to use others to advance but the biblical model is to invest in others so that they go further and do even more than we have done.
