ਇਹ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਜਨਮੀ ਤੇ ਲਿਖੀ ਗਈ... ਕਿਸੇ ਰਿਸਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਸੰਪਾਦਕ ਵਲੋਂ ਲੇਖਕ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਗਿਸਤਾਨ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਰੰਗੀਨੀਆਂ, ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ, ਪਰੰਪਰਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਮਾਅਰਕਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਵੀਹ-ਪੰਝੀ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨੌਂ-ਦਸ ਸਫ਼ੇ ਲਿਖਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ।ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਸੋਚ ਵਾਲਾ ਲੇਖਕ ਰਸੂਲ ਹਮਜ਼ਾਤੋਵ ਮਹਾਨ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦਾਗਿਸਤਾਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਲਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਪਾਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਖ ਕੇ ਦਾਗਿਸਤਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਥੋੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮੇਟਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ। ਉਹ ਖੁੱਲ ਕੇ ਲਿਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਏਸੇ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਇਸ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਈ।ਮੇਰਾ ਦਾਗ਼ਿਸਤਾਨ।

How this book has been incepted and written down, an editor of a magazine asked the writer to write about the laurels and achievements of the people, be it in any literary form and that can go up to several pages. The versatile writer Rasool Hamzatov, while writing about his motherland does not to get curtailed by any of the forms and literary segments. He was to write free. This is the main reason behind the formation of the book that has come this way.

Mera Dagestan (My Dagestan) is one of the most popular books which was originally written in Avar language but has been translated into many languages across the globe.

The writer of this book is Rasul Gamzatov who belonged to Soviet Union. He was eleven years old boy when he started writing. He wrote about the young boys running down the clearing while chasing the airplane which landed for the first time. Many of his poems got converted into songs like Gone Sunny Days.

The Book is all about the essence of motherland that every individual dwells in his heart across the globe. Moreover, it provides opportunity to celebrate the life in itself and further pass the learnings from one generation to other.

Here, it must me noted that the book does not belong to any specific genre but is a work of poetry, prose and criticism.

The cover art of this audiobook has been made by Artist Gurdish Pannu and Dr. Ruminder has given voice to this punjabi short story.
