Why do we use the Athanasian Creed on Trinity Sunday? What does the Bible teach about the God who created and redeemed us?

Have you considered Peter's Pentecost Sermon in Acts 2 and applied it to yourself? What does Peter call upon us to do? How do we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit?

Before His death, resurrection and ascension, Christ promised to send to His disciples the Holy Spirit, who would empower and enable them to be witnesses to the Lord Jesus Christ and all He had done, but Jesus also prepares them for rejection and persecution from unbelievers, even from those within the outward pale of God's people and church in this world.

Ascension Day is a special day in the church calendar often forgotten, but it is important to us and our faith. In Acts 1, we hear the account of Jesus' ascension and that He will come again in the same way as he ascended. Are you ready for Him to appear in the clouds of glory?

When we hear the Word of God preached and proclaimed, or when we read it in our Bibles, it will do us no good unless we act on it. To hear the Word and not do as it says is self-deception — thinking that all is well with our souls when it is not — when we have no real and genuine faith in Christ Jesus.

Why do I believe in Jesus? My answer just might surprise you. You, too, may want to place your faith in Jesus!

Several of the larger Lutheran synods in the United States teach an objective and universal justification which is said to occur prior to and apart from faith. But is that what the Scriptures teach? This podcast shows from the Scriptures that Christ made atonement for the sins of all but that justification and the impartation of forgiveness occur only when one believes the promises of the Gospel.
