Mercy is a combination of forgiveness and compassion. Our mission team was able to be "the hands and feet" of mercy during our time in San Francisco. Listen in as some of our students and adult leaders share about our experiences during our week of mercy and service. 

It is fitting that "The Merciful" is the 6th week in our newest series, "New Creation...", learning about the "beatitudes" from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.

It is a really good thing Jesus didn't say, "Blessed are those who EAT & DRINK of righteousness." He said, "...those who HUNGER & THIRST..." That gives all of us hope! Listen in this week as we learn what biblical righteousness is and what Jesus meant when he said, "Blessed are those who hunger & thirst for righteousness."

Many of us have a negative perception of the word, "Meek." Too many people correlate the words "weak" and "meek." However, there must be more to this word than we realize because Jesus said, "Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth." Jesus even described himself as meek. If we know anything about Jesus, we know he is/was NOT weak!

This past Sunday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Aaron Wurgler. In this message Aaron shares some of what he, Sara, and their wonderful family have learned about who God is and grace in their time as missionaries in China.

Jesus began one of His most intimate messages, the essence of all His teachings, by saying, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven." He begins laying out this new lifestyle, this new way of life, with the root of all virtues. From being "poor in spirit" is where all the other virtues will emerge...

In Matthew 5:1-12, Jesus lays out a lifestyle/value system/ethic for those who choose to follow Him. In one of His most intimate teachings, Jesus shares His heart and the Truth of God's kingdom as He establishes His new community and the new covenant based on grace and mercy.

One of the covenant promises God has made to His covenant people is that He will never leave us or forsake us.

Today at Seeds of Faith we celebrated that promise through the sacrament of baptism.

Now, having been confronted and challenged in our views and perspectives on life, Church, worship, service, surrender...having been challenged to unlearn and rethink our perspective on God and this life we are living...having been invited to trust this God that in on our side...having been called to hope in & wait on this God that is on our side...being given a glimpse of God's great vision and perspective and an understanding of this epic story He has written...and understanding that we have a great role to play in His epic adventure...
