In 1946, the United States, fresh off its victory in WWII, took the Marshall Islands in the Pacific from the Japanese and got the indigenous people there to 'agree' to allow testing of nuclear bombs. What the US Military didn't tell the people of the Marshall Islands is that they were guinea pigs...to see how, in real time, nuclear fallout and radiation would affect people. To this day, the now displaced people of the Marshall Islands suffer in unimaginable ways. Welcome to Horrible History and please heed the trigger warnings on this.
