A Christ-follower is truly content when he honors the God of the Word by meditating and walking in the light of God’s Word. He avoids ungodly fellowship, ungodly counsel, ungodly goals, and ungodly conduct.

King David’s godly character begins to erode into what many call the corrupted years of his life. This did not happen overnight--it involved a steady progression of disobedience, discontentment and lack of discipline that seemed to be motivated by a mid-life crisis.

When we study the lives of King Saul and the soon to be King David, we find a stark contrast in their character. Saul was small in character, while David was large in character.

God is in the process of maturing us into the person He desires us to be. In theological terms this process is called sanctification. This process is clearly scene in the life of David.
