With the help of BibleProject videos, John Driver opens up the season of Advent with an exploration of the hope we experience amid the tension of waiting. As Mary discovered, a future tense hoping for "something" to happen is secondary to God's timeless, omnipresent tense hoping for "Someone" to come. And since Christ has already come, we can hold to Him with hope as we continue waiting for all that will someday happen to redeem the world in which we live.

In the final message of the Philippians series, John Driver explores Paul's closing remarks and sentiments on how to apply the truths of the rest of the book into daily living, including how to live with people, how to live in worry, prayer, and thinking, and how to live in contentment, despite financial ups and downs.

In chapter 3 of Philippians, Paul gives a very clear path of what his life looked like prior to encountering Christ. Paul then gives insight to living a daily life in Christ that is fulfilled and not lacking. Today's conversation challenges those of us who serve Christ to follow suit as Paul did and find ourselves in a rejoicing state of life with Christ.

John Driver reads through the second chapter of Philippians, a section of Paul's letter devoted to learning to live in genuine humility and mutual service to one another, just as Christ has done for us. We learn that our willingness to speak (and yes, even disagree) without "grumbling or arguing" is a much bigger evidence of a true and worthwhile testimony that most modern Christians realize.

As Paul continues his opening remarks in this letter from prison, we begin to learn and understand what truly drives his pursuit of life in Christ. His physical sufferings and his writing itself both display a resolve to keep learning to love others as radically as Christ does, and in this daily process, we find true growth in the endurance and perseverance of the gospel.

John Driver launches a new book study on Paul's letter to the Philippians. Going verse-by-verse, we learn about the need to remind one another of God's grace and peace, we take confidence in God's unconquerable work to complete in us what we can never do in ourselves, and we discover that love toward real people in real life is the first and only valid biblical context for growth in all other areas of life and faith.
