Paul wrote the words in the graphic to Timothy as part of Timothy's training as a leader in the church. Most of us know of this instruction. Even if we haven't, we've seen this verse employed in the church by ourselves or others.

Yet we feel pressure to be able to competently handle the Bible, such as the words of 2 Timothy 3:16-17. What are we to do?

Who helps me overcome sin? This message details how we are to be fully dependent on Jesus to overcome sin. We must change our life and be fully dependent on Jesus.

How do I know if I am saved? This message shows how we are saved when we repent our sins and change our life to be more like God. This message shows how we are to repent to become saved.

When it comes to declaring that someone is going to heaven, there are a lot of formulas promoted by various Christian groups. Some might suggest that it is as simple as saying a prayer, others suggest that the ritual of baptism does it, and still others might imply that it happens when we speak in tongues, do good deeds, or get through a series of lectures.

Which is it, or is it all of them? The Bible has a few clear messages that help us to have confidence that we are heaven-bound. This short three-week series explores our commitment to Jesus Christ, the fruitful transformation that happens as a result of that commitment, and the hunger to live a life just as Jesus lived.

When faced with pain, sickness, or death, most of us will first turn to medical science because we believe Advil and the Emergency Room provide a high probability of recovery. We might also pray, but prayer for many isn't seen as the primary power for healing … we only get serious with prayer when medicine fails. Is this approach wrong, backwards, or showing a lack of faith?

Jesus was clearly attentive to helping the sick get well, and one could argue that medical procedures were even partnered with the miraculous " e.g., the spit & mud medicine of John 9:6-7 or the oil of James 5:13-15. So, if both medicine and the miraculous seem to be in the mix with God, how does the Bible inform us about a godly approach to healing, health and even death?

This message answers why Easter. This message shows how Jesus is the way to get to the Father. We must follow Jesus, and become follows of The Way.
