When Americans think of things that they want to change in their life, money is right near the top ... the change, buy the way, is usually "more of it".
But that's rarely going to solve a money problem - whether too many bills, too much debt, or too little income. The root of most money problems these days is not a low bank account balance, but a spiritual sickness. Similar to last week's message where Pastor Doug helped us to understand that obesity can arise from a spiritual dysfunction, a problem with money can also arise from a spiritual dysfunction that is so common in America that Christians don't even think of it as a sin that we need to avoid
But it is. Some call it coveting ... others the love of money ... some the quest for money ... and of course there's always greed. Whatever you call it, it is truly the "bread" that never fills us up. But God has a solution to our money woes that is described by Jesus in many places.
