We are the light of the world, so we should walk as what we are! We fulfill a role that no one else can, and if we neglect it the darkness of the world remains unchecked and runs rampant.

Digging into the term

Self sufficiency of God: He is fully sufficient in and of himself, to exist, to thrive, and to be fully satisfied in every way apart from anything created.

God is all sufficient and the source of all things. We need him, and he rebuked his people in Psalm 50 for their self-sufficiency and lack of reliance upon God just as Jesus does in saying

category all by himself, not only different from man in degree but in kind. He has many attributes: 1. Externality: He is eternal, from everlasting to everlasting. 2. Self-Existence and Self-Sufficiency: God needs nothing, but he is the source of everything.

This gentile woman, grieved by the suffering of her child, displays great faith and humility in her pleading with the Lord, recognizing who she is as a great sinner and Jesus as the powerful, compassionate Lord, the promised King. Mothers, be persistent in prayer, knowing Jesus has reasons for his silence, and that he also answers prayers of great faith.
