The Book of Numbers sermon 19This will be the last time we will hear about the Israelites grumbling…from now right up until the entrance into the Promised Land. Is it actually wrong to complain? Who among us has not gone through personal difficulties and trials? We, like the psalmist often come to God with our complaints. But is it sin to complain? No, if the condition of our heart is not rebellious but reliant on God in spite of the circumstance. It’s not wrong to complain to God, but it is wrong to complain about God. It is one thing to be faithless in our complaints, thinking that God is not sufficiently good or faithful or able. Let our complaints be based on faith in Him. David poured out his complaints to God, but at the same time he pleaded for mercy. God does want to hear the heaviness of our hearts and the best way to make those complaints would be through prayer and supplication, just like David did. I didn’t feel so bad about how much I complained when I read that about 1/3 of David’s psalms are laments. O Lord teach us to guard our hearts and lament like David, for You have shown us, through his trials how to complain. If we complain let it be about who we are, and our sins and not about You O Lord, as we hear the great words of Yeshua, “Take heart, for I have over come the world.” O blessed is the Lord, baruch Adonai who has turning our mourning into joy.Blessings as you listen in to this message with Messianic leader, Jacques Isaac Gabizon in the Book of Numbers, chapter 21 to 24, shalom.bethariel.ca
