Today, I share a little more deeply about the isolation which led me straight into the darkest, most gut-wrenching time of my life. My heart in today's podcast is to see the wilderness and desert of our isolation turn into the beautiful promises of Isaiah 51:3:

" For the LORD comforts Zion,
He comforts all of her waste places,
And makes her wilderness like Eden,
Her desert like the garden of God.
Joy and gladness will be found in her,
Thanksgiving and the voice of song."

Today, I talk about something I spent 10 years doing--playing lacrosse goalie. As with many things, it isn't until you really look at these past experiences, often messy, that you see the mighty love of God breaking through, then and now. And, while there really are lessons for my own life, there are lessons for us all as we live out these uncertain days.

Today, I make a sharp departure from using metaphors with yummy food. Instead I use metaphors related to manure, yep, manure. It has always been my 'smell of home' and of a love mightier than the thrones of many kingdoms.
