This isn't the story I expected to be sharing, but this is the one we get to share.

Many of you have followed our journey to a third baby through social media or through this podcast and now it's time to bring a close to this chapter of our story. Our beta day from our embryo transfer ended differently than we had hoped and when we got the call, we found out that our transfer had failed.

In today's episode, I am sharing this story of grief while also sharing the bits of hope that I still feel are open to us. This episode is real, raw, and vulnerable as I openly share a breakdown of our beta day followed by a highlight of the weeks since we got the call.

If you've experienced a failed embryo transfer, I hope this episode brings you a sense of comfort or support wherever you are in your journey. If you know someone who has gone through this, I hope you find tangible pieces of support that you can pass on to your loved ones.

Don't you wish that you could go back and give yourself a heads up about a few things during a particular hard time in your life?

My husband and I were diagnosed with unexplained infertility in 2018 and we've been through so much ever since the day we got our diagnosis. There are so many things that I wish I could go back and tell myself. Not that it would've made it any easier, but maybe it would've softened the blow? I'm honestly not sure, but I was recently thinking about this whole idea- if I could go back and tell myself a few things, what would I say?

And that's what led to this episode on the podcast! I started making a list and let's just say, that list is rather long. Welcome back to another episode of Messy Motherhood! We've been digging into the IVF world a lot lately, but in this week's episode we're going to take a small pivot to help cater our care to the IUI community.

My husband, Alex, and I went through five IUI procedures at the start of our journey and I remember feeling so utterly lost and alone. We didn't know anyone else who was navigating the murky waters of infertility and as our doctor talked about different options, we literally felt like she was speaking another language.
