Tom Gold
I'm a Life Coach, Bush craft Instructor and personal trainer and I'm a big believer in using the outdoors to restore ourselves. It's the environment we were built and designed to thrive in which is why it all somehow makes sense when we go back there.
Don't believe me? Why is a room with view so important? Why do we go on holiday to places that look nice - like the seaside or the country? Why is it when you google 'success' and hit images more than half the pictures are of people on mountain tops?
I work with businesses, with front line NHS staff, combat veterans dealing with PTSD and people dealing with a variety of mental health challenges.
I have an ICF accredited Diploma in Transformational Life Coaching, an Honours degree in Psychology and I’m a qualified Bush craft Instructor.
On my show nobody gets cold wet and miserable, nobody gets put under pressure to bare their soul and nobody has to take on any physical challenges or tests.

I like action movies and I love true life adventure stories which I find very inspiring.
I worked for a year in a correctional boot camp in Arizona. It was extremely challenging.
I travelled, unsupported from Inverness to Glasgow with a folding kayak to raise money for a school in Gambia. That was quite challenging too.

Metabolic Wellbeing Without the BS
Following my own diagnosis with Stage 4 cancer, I created an independent educational platform dedicated to improving metabolic health literacy. Through conversations with world-leading clinicians, researchers and patient advocates, 'Metabolic Wellbeing without the BS' has reached audiences in over 100 countries, helping people make informed lifestyle decisions and promoting prevention, resilience and wellbeing. Entirely self-funded, the initiative demonstrates how one person's lived experience can create lasting public benefit on a global scale while being proudly based in Glasgow
Hosted with authenticity, curiosity, and a passion for meaningful change, each episode brings together world-leading experts, innovators, advocates, and everyday storytellers to explore why metabolic health truly matters. Blending real-life experiences with science-backed insights, the conversations challenge conventional thinking while inspiring listeners to ask better questions about health and longevity.
From insulin resistance and gut health to cancer conversations, migraines, mental clarity, sustainable weight management, and the future of preventative healthcare, Metabolic Wellbeing Without the BS creates a space for learning, questioning, and evolving — together.
