We're excited and privileged to have a new guest joining us tonight! Maggie Campbell, aside from being a prog-rock aficionado, is the estate rum manager for Mount Gay, the world’s oldest operating rum distillery, located in Barbados. We’re also stoked to have a returning guest, and friend of the show, Paul Hletko, founder and master distiller of FEW Spirits in Evanston, IL. Listen in as we talk whiskey, rum and continue our discussion about progressive rock, with a focus on the band, Elecric Light Orchestra (ELO).

It's the first part of our progressive rock series where we will dive into the history of the most influential bands in the prog-rock genre. On this episode we start with one of the earliest prog-rock bands, Yes! Who is "Yes"? Why should you care? Their catalog of music is so extensive you may know this band's music and not even realize it! We attempt to scratch the surface of the long and convoluted career of this band where the term "band" seems woefully inadequate!

Join us as we once again revisit our hair metal series and dive into a discussion about a metal band that hit the scene with a bang in 1989, "Skid Row"! What is it that makes them stand out from the crowd and why is Sebastian Bach's hair so magical? We will also do a deep dive into their first two albums "Skid Row" (1989) and "Slave to the Grind" (1991) and determine which one we think is superior.

With the tragic and recent death of "Foo Fighters" drummer, Taylor Hawkins, we decided it was high time that we dedicated an episode to this band! Join us for a discussion of one of the most exciting and popular rock bands of the late 90's and early 2000's. How exactly did the Foo Fighters come to be, and what makes them so special? We discuss this at length and try to decide which of their albums featuring Taylor Hawkins, are our favorites. As always, we manage to fit in a lively discussion about whiskey. Listen to find out more about the Foo Fighters as well as what's in our glasses! Cheers!

They've been called the most notorious elevator music band in the world, with several decades on the road touring half of the world. Setting fashion statements with their crocheted vests that would last a lifetime! Throughout the bands career, members Deuce Stooley, Green Persimmons, and Carl Lanley lived a roller coaster of a life! Now, the uncompromising and controversial story of Smooch the band. This is Behind the Elevator Music on VH2.
This episode has been long overdue. We are excited to FINALLY be dedicating a show to the hair metal/rock band, Vixen! We will discuss the origins and career of this all female band who got their start in the early 80's and is still rocking today! The discussion will, of course, culminate in a battle of albums: "Vixen" (1988) vs. "Rev it Up" (1990).
Of course it wouldn't be a complete episode without a lively discussion about whiskey! Find out what's in our glasses as Sailor finally ends her dry spell.
Apologies in advance for some sound quality issues. Sailor is still hard at work getting the acoustics of her new studio dialed in!
