We live in the era of batshit crazy. While philosophical pessimism and ascribing a negative value to birth (i.e. antinatalism) are minority views, they have been around for thousands of years: one can find them in the Bible, in Buddhist scriptures, in Greek tragedy, and in Philosophy. Those ideas have been discussed normally by people holding opposing views for a long time. This isn't what happens today with batshit lunatics that promote far out conspiracy theories, such as covid deniers, antivaxxers, flat-earthers, QAnon followers and others. To them, the discussion is always rigged in favor of obscure agents, such as the "globalist elite" or some other made up idiocy. They aren't interested in debating anything, and lie when they say they are. January 6th, 2021 in the US, and September 7th, 2021 in Brazil show that what they want is to overthrow the established order so they can impose an authoritarian rule based on their far out conspiracy theories. Unfortunately, antinatalism sometimes attracts nut jobs such as those, but it shouldn't — and responsible antinatalists should shun them.
