We can all appreciate the spiritual counselors, teachers, and mentors who show up in our lives and help us evolve as individuals and spiritually. A "guru" is a type of spiritual teacher from the Hindu tradition, but has been adopted in the West to refer to various spiritual teachers. But, what if a spiritual counselor or guru does not act with the best intentions and uses their influence to manipulate, assert control over, or even harm their followers? Now we have a cult leader! A cult is a social group that is often defined by an unusual set of religious, spiritual, or philosophical beliefs, with devotion towards the cult's leader. Join Julie and Halle as they discuss their experiences with their spiritual mentors, their fascination with cults, and the "red flag" warnings that you in fact may be dealing with a cult.
It seems like psychics are everywhere--bookstores, street fairs, strip malls, and even available by telephone or internet. But, can psychics really predict the future? Are they more intuitive than the rest of us and, if so, is intuition something that we can develop and trust in ourselves? In this podcast, Julie and Halle discuss what it means to be "psychic" and share stories of their experiences with psychics and how we can all use our own intuition to improve our day to day lives.
Finally--a Metaphysical Nomads podcast that is backed by science! There are many benefits of meditation, including stress reduction, emotional health, self-awareness, enhanced mindfulness, a feeling of connection with others. In this podcast, Julie and Halle discuss their experiences with meditation and why you shouldn't get stressed about the "right way" to meditate. There are many different ways to take advantage of this practice and there is no "one size fits all" approach. Find out what works best for you and enjoy!
A "Walk In" is a soul that has entered into a contractual agreement with another soul to take over the first soul's human body for some period of time, usually for purposes related to each soul's evolution. This may be temporary or for the rest of the human body's Earth life, and two souls may even share the same human body. This transition is said to happen when the departing soul's human body experiences some trauma or near death experience and the person's personality may undergo drastic changes as a result. So, is this is really a soul walk in event or just signs of neurological damage as scientists would like us to believe? In this podcast, Julie and Halle share their understanding of "Walk Ins" and Julie tells her favorite Walk In story -- that of T. Lobsang Rampa (aka Cyril Henry Hoskin). We hope you enjoy!

Ever wanted to attend a "spiritual" retreat? These retreats typically involve a gathering of like-minded people, with a spiritual leader, and activities, events, and exercises designed to help encourage personal and collective healing, release, and spiritual growth. In this podcast, Julie shares her introduction to and experiences at these retreats, including a yoga retreat in Costa Rica that wasn't quite as "spiritual" as planned. We hope you enjoy!
