Chapter 5 is kind of a turning point in the narrative of Exodus. God has called Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt and now is time for Moses to deliver the epic “let my people go!” message to Pharaoh, the King of Egypt. God is on the move, but as is so often the case, He moves in a different time frame than we or the Israelites would choose.

Though called by God to aid in the liberation of others, our fears can keep us from heeding that call. We can trust God because He responds to our fears with His power, His patience, and His providence.
