The goal of this sermon is to know that the cross is more than just a widely recognized symbol of Christianity. The cross, once the cruelest form of execution, but now it is a symbol of love and abundant life. The cross reveals the true identity of Jesus, the sinfulness of people and the need for a savior and that Jesus is a loving and protective God. Through Jesus' actions the cross, once a sign of torture and death has become a symbol of love, protection and life. It is the actions of the Savior on the cross that has saved and protected us from the punishment we deserve.

Each day ​​we are presented with the opportunity to honor God with the little power we have in life. But, not everyone knows how to navigate being in positions of authority, without making the experience about themselves. Let’s discuss some God-honoring ways to utilize power, and prayerfully begin to consider if the ways that we lead and love, reflect who we believe is in control.
