Drawing from the Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6, we're challenged to understand what it means when Jesus taught us to pray 'hallowed be thy name.' The word 'hallowed' means to make holy, to set apart, to consecrate—and it calls us to treat God's name with the reverence and awe it deserves. 

When Jesus taught His disciples to pray, the first request was, "Hallowed be Your name." Before asking for provision, guidance, or forgiveness, Jesus directs our attention to the holiness and greatness of God. To hallow God's name is to honor Him as holy, to revere His character, and to live in a way that reflects His glory, challenging us to move beyond simply speaking God's name with reverence to bearing His name with faithfulness. As we learn to hallow His name, we discover that a life centered on God's holiness transforms the way we pray, live, and love.
