In Episode 150, expert Peter Zalewski of Condo Vultures® interviews Ken H. Johnson - a real estate economist at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla. - about the outlook for the South Florida residential real estate market in the second half of 2021. Johnson discusses Miami's hot market, and addresses the growing concerns that South Florida is in the midst of another housing bubble just a decade after the Great Recession.

In Segment 1, Johnson discusses growing up in Montgomery, Ala., attending Auburn University, operating a real estate business and eventually earning a doctorate degree from the University of Alabama. Johnson has lived in South Florida for two decades, teaching at Florida International University before returning Florida Atlantic University in 2014.

In Segment 2, Johnson explains how investors and real estate professionals alike can effectively collect the most complete and accurate data available when conducting their due diligence. Johnson also compares and contrasts the similarities and differences of the Multiple Listing Service and real estate websites such as Zillow.

In Segment 3, Johnson discusses his outlook for the South Florida's residential real estate market in the second half of 2021. Johnson also talks about the foreclosure and eviction moratorium, the return of foreign investors and whether owning property can be a better investment than investing in publicly traded real estate entities.
