Are you annoying? In one county in New York, being “annoying” can get you arrested and face one year in jail and up to $5,000 in fines. Is this constitutional? Obviously not. But that didn’t prevent them from passing the ordinance. This is an example of power hungry legislators always thinking “there ought to be a law.” No, we don’t always need laws. And we certainly don’t need laws that clog up the courts contesting the obvious unconstitutionality of something as stupid as outlawing being annoying to a first responder.

A resurgent left-wing party in the United Kingdom is out with its manifesto. That’s right. A manifesto instead of a platform. Michael dissects that parallels between the UK Labour Party’s manifesto and the policy positions of Democrats running for President in the United States.
