The RITES Of Style Part Two - Valves And Smoke
The Black Party™ for me was always a venue where one could stretch my boundaries of musical imagination and take my dance floor on a trip of the magical and the unexpected. A place where drama meshed with spiritual togetherness between me and the dancers. I decided to make a two part musical piece this year that would encapsulate my take on my concept of RITES. These two musical movements are not necessarily meant to represent what I would have played, but more as what Michael Fierman's vision of the modern Rites Of Spring could be.
This set begins with a set piece, The Jungle Line by Joni Mitchell interpreted by Herbie Hancock and Leonard Cohen. It will lead you down into the mists of my final set,
Valves And Smoke.
