  • RESEARCH | How Best to Prepare Workers for Future Careers
Paul King ROI Insight, Gross Pointe, MI, Lou Glazer, President and co-founder Michigan Future, Inc., Ann Arbor, MI a non-partisan, non-profit organization join Chris Holman in the MBN studio.
They discuss Lou and Paul's past research for The Ralph C Wilson Junior Foundation and how they may promoting it in the near future. One of their goals will be to foster data-driven discussions about how best to prepare workers for future careers.
They explain the research and what it says about how we should be educating and training our future workforce to meet the needs of employers.
That study done for Michigan Future and the Ralph Wilson Foundation was from 2017.
The Wilson Foundation's goal is to invest nearly $2 Billion over 20 years in both Detroit and Buffalo regions. This money is being invested on various community needs, driven by their grant awarding process. One of their original internal goals is to help people in both regions find good-paying jobs, especially those without four-year degrees. That created the demand for Paul and Lou's research, which will ultimately help determine a pathway to funding programs that prepare those looking for jobs and advise employers looking for talent.
According to Lou Glazer at Michigan Future, Wilson Foundation is interested in promoting the research findings and organizing in-depth discussions across both communities (Detroit and Buffalo), to better determine community needs and fund programs that help them reach these goals.
