For these three segments Steve Purdy has a lengthy chat with Larry Moss, long-time chairman of the Concours d’Elegance of America at St. John’s, one of the three most prestigious car shows in the U.S. I asked Larry how a respectful investment guy like he got up to his neck in the classic and collector car world. We are privileged to have such an important and expansive celebration of automotive history and culture. The weekend of Concours events is Friday to Sunday, June 26 to 28 at the Inn at St. John’s, Plymouth, MI. The Concours weekend has a tour to historic sites and GM’s Factory One in Flint, a Cars and Coffee event, two elegant dinners, a special car show for “lemons” (eclectic, indeed!), seminars on auto heritage and collecting, and plenty more. But the highlight of the weekend is the Concours d’Elegance on Sunday, July 28 with gates opening at 10AM. Tickets at the event are $45 but you can get them early online for $35. You’ll find the schedule of events, logistical details and everything else you need to know on the website: www.concoursusa.org.
