This week on the Michigan Golf podcast we’re going to talk about my new driver shaft! In numerous previous episodes I’ve discussed the importance of getting fit in order to optimize your equipment for your game & after several years of “self fitting”, I finally decided to practice what I preach. I got on a launch monitor, gathered the data, and want to dish to you guys the condensed version of what that experience was like and what shaft I ended up putting in play!

Last weekend I got in a late season round at Thornapple Pointe, just on the east side of Grand Rapids. Although it was a scramble format, I figured I’d drop a quick play by play & share the course with you guys! It’s a great track that I don’t play as often as I should. Last week I had the opportunity to get in a late season round at what’s probably my favorite country club in the area. Muskegon County Club holds a special place in my heart as every year I try and grind my way through the US Open local qualifier there. It’s a great Donald Ross design with beautiful rolling fairways & some very difficult green complexes, so hit the play button & let’s chat more about Muskegon Country Club!

If you’ve played Stone Gate Golf Club before, awesome, but if not, I highly recommend adding it to your list for 2021. It’s a great design located just north of Muskegon, MI that will give you all the feels of Northern Michigan golf just a short 50 minute drive from Grand Rapids!

The equipment mini series continues & this episode we’re addressing one of golf’s great debates, long irons vs hybrids vs fairway woods! I’m going to share how I asses what goes in my bag and how I decide to fill the gap between the longest iron in my bag and my 3 wood.
