Jesus said and did lots of really weird and strange things throughout his years on earth. This week we take a look at the time Jesus walked into the Temple and flipped over a bunch of tables and then cursed an innocent fig tree that had no figs on it.

As we move into 2019, we take the week to consider how the Spirit of God may be stirring us and moving us as individuals and as a community of faith.

During Advent we celebrate the coming of peace, hope, joy and love. The amazing thing about Advent is that we once again are reminded that God is not angry with humanity but is so passionate about humanity that God becomes human and the result is good news of great joy for all people.

When the Christ was born the angels declared 'Peace on earth!' This was not careless or unintended thought, but was instead a true declaration that from this point on, things can be different for all of the world....if you want it.

The prophets of long ago spoke about a way of life that was to come and regularly invited the people of Israel to begin practicing and living into that way of life immediately. The prophets are still speaking today about a world to come and a reality that can be now, even in the middle of the chaos.

The Corridor is where we live, with rooms and columns and surprises on both sides. Some good. Some not so good. Learning to live in the corridor, finding rest for one's soul and finding God in the middle of life is the best way to navigate life with all of its ups and downs.

Though we live in a world that is constantly comparing and weighing out worth and worthiness, the communion table reminds us that playing field is level and everyone is invited to participate in the ways of the Divine.

This is the conclusion of our 13 week series on Breathing Underwater. In this teaching we talk about the 12th step of AA and how we can learn from this about the value and beauty and importance of carrying forward the message of the love and mercy of Christ.

Prayer and meditation are practices that ultimately form us in deep ways. Learning to actually pray is no easy thing, however, forming a liturgy for prayer gives us a track to run on and can be very helpful.
