A Frederick County legislator is drafting legislation to expand the definition of a hate crime. This legislation comes on the heels of the fatal assault of a Mount Airy man by two teenage brothers last Friday at the Great Frederick Fairgrounds.

John Weed, 59, died after being punched by the two brothers.

Delegate Dan Cox, R-Frederick County, said he was disgusted after watching the attackers spit on the victim. Cox wants to expand the definition of a hate crime to further protect the dignity of individuals.

It was just recently awarded the Eastern region small business of the year from the U.S. Chamber of commerce. His goal is to revitalize the American dream and remind his fellow Americans no other soil on earth is more fertile for their dreams than America.
