Two children, a boy and a girl under age five were reportedly drowned in an abandoned water tank at Anwomaso-Domeabra in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region. Bodies of the boy, aged 4, and the girl, aged 2, were seen floating on water in a two feet block tank at a building site in the area.

Angry residents of Pankrono in Kumasi smashed the windscreen of a tipper truck after a commercial vehicle crashed into the stationary vehicle killing two people. The truck full of sand, according to witnesses, developed a fault and was abandoned on the busy Tafo-pankrono road leading to the accident.

Six passengers are reported to have burned to death when a bus travelling from Lawra in the Upper West region caught fire after being involved in an accident at a Police checkpoint in Akomadan. According to the Police, 22 others are receiving treatment after they sustained various degrees of injury.

The Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, says Parliament cannot direct the General Legal Council on its admission processes by resolution. Parliament last week unanimously voted, directing the General Legal Council to immediately admit the 499 students who passed but have been denied admission to the Ghana School of Law. Parliament further directed the Attorney General to ensure that this resolution of Parliament is respected. But in a letter addressed to the Speaker of Parliament, Godfred Yeboah Dame argued that Parliament cannot use a resolution to make such directions.

Some departments in hospitals nationwide have been deserted following the strike by the Health Services Workers Union. This has left some patients stranded because of the absence of records personnel, cleaners, lab technicians, orderlies, among others. The union is striking in protest of its desire for better conditions of service, which it says have not been fairly addressed.
