Suspected armed robbers have gunned down a watchman guarding the office of A2 Enterprise, an aluminium products dealership venture at Santase-Kokoben in Kumasi. Bosompem Andoh, 49, was found dead, with stab wounds and his body dragged inside the shop.

A 30-year-old mother of four who butchered her 2-year-old son in the presence of three other children will undergo psychiatric examination. The request for this examination was granted police prosecutors by the Kodie Magistrate Court in the Ashanti Region.

A 42-year-old man, identified as Maxwell Yeboah, has bolted after allegedly stabbing his pregnant wife to death at Nyankyerenease, a suburb of Kumasi. Eyewitnesses say the incident occurred Saturday dawn when the deceased was heard shouting for help only for them to discover the woman in a pool of her own blood with several machete wounds.

Scores of residents of Gomoa Fetteh within the Gomoa East District of the Central Region are scrambling for food and other essentials after traditional authorities ordered a ban on commercial activities in the area. The ban, which is to last four days, beginning Thursday, October 14, is to allow for the conduct of the final funeral rites of the late Chief of the town, Nana Abor Yamoah II.

Consumers of fuel, including Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), have demanded that government intervenes to ensure that petroleum prices are reduced. This is because there are hints of a seven percent increase in petroleum prices in less than 48 hours. The price of LPG is also set to increase by some 40 pesewas per kilo.

Minority in Parliament has put together a motion demanding immediate steps to review the 1992 constitution. The motion, expected to be moved when the house reconvenes at the end of the month will, among others, call for a bi-partisan approach. Minority leader Haruna Iddrisu who confirmed this, said the equal numbers in parliament makes the time ripe for such a discussion.
